There is still a need and we're not going to forget . . .

Well, here is an exciting update!  The Sanpete Humanitarian Council has been given a new building which will enable them to restore their amazing free Clothing Bank program.  They had to shut down after Christmas last year due to losing their previous home.

That is great news to us because we can merge the clothing items donated to the Fire Victims into this larger program.  This will give the fire victims, and others in need, a larger pool of items to choose from and place they can go for as long as they need the help.

We will still keep the household, furniture and tool donations in another location so the fire victims can access them as they are ready.

The response from those who have lost their homes to the Wood Hollow fire has been very heartwarming.  Most of the furniture donated so far has been taken and there are still many families still in need.  We have room to store furniture and household items in good shape and would love to get more items for our little "showroom".

We have found that having a good selection of furniture items in one place for folks to look at is the best way to convince them that there is really enough available for them to take what they need.  They are so hesitant to take anything in case there is "someone else who needs it more".   Wow.

Thank you all so much for what you have given.  If you happen to come across any other household items or furniture you think would help a fire victim trying to set up a new home, please contact us and we'll try to connect it to the needs out there.

We have an immediate need for queen beds - even just the bed and frame, dressers, desks, sofas and chairs in good shape, end tables, bookcases and kitchen tables and chairs that will fit in smaller to medium size homes.

Please visit our Needed Items page to learn more about what is needed most.  Thanks!
